Most healthy adults take a rice-grain portion daily and tolerate it well. Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not give it to children. If you take prescription medication, particularly for blood pressure, diabetes or blood thinning, or you have an iron-overload condition, ask your doctor first. Salajeet is a supplement, not a treatment for any condition.

A portion about the size of a grain of rice, roughly 200 to 300 mg, once a day, dissolved in warm milk or warm water rather than swallowed directly. Stay under 600 mg in a day. Give it a few weeks before judging it, because it is not a stimulant and should not feel like one.

People take it most often for daily energy and stamina, which is the area with the most human research behind it. One placebo-controlled trial also found higher testosterone in men aged 45 to 55 over 90 days. Beyond that, most claims rest on laboratory or animal work rather than human trials, so we describe what the research examines and link it rather than promising results.
